... that today is the anniversary of the Toilet Festival? In
2000, the people of Granite Falls, Washington, hosted a
two-day Toilet Festival to celebrate the opening of its first
public restroom. Instead of a ribbon-cutting ceremony, they
hosted a ceremonial tearing of toilet paper. The Mayor wore a
crown and cape made of toilet paper and held a toilet
plunger/toilet paper scepter. Celebrate with your own roll

The Erie Canal was the first major human-made waterway in
